First Bite

For those who question the need for yet another SF Burrito Ranking Site, let me explain what we feel is lacking out there.

You've gotta separate the burrito from the establishment.
You may really want to go to you're favorite taqueria because you can depend on having clean bathrooms, good service, and live coverage of Las Chivas Rayadas. But maybe I just want to get the best burrito I can get within a 5 mile radius - para llevar. How is one to use some other ranking that may be heavily based on some random feature? We promise to keep the burrito separate from the taqueria, so our rankings are useful for any occasion. If you simply want the best burrito in San Carlos, we'll tell you where to go. But if you're looking for a good atmosphere for a party, with non-sticky tabletops, and quality burritos, you can use our site to find out which taqueria meets those criteria.

Comprehensive, All-inclusive, Categorized Rankings.
Laziness has pervaded the Burrito Ranking World, and some have settled for one simple score that sums up the burrito experience. How is that useful to anyone? With all the intricacies inherent in burrito eating and evaluating, how can one little number tell me anything meaningful about what's being tasted? (and we all know how easily written explanations are manipulated and exaggerated) We won't stand for it. We demand detailed rankings which include a breakdown of all ten fundamental burrito quality categories, weighted by importance. Its pure science, wrapped in bullet proof foil.

What about the Burrito Eaters?
Don't you worry that the burrito ranking you depend on for finding your lunch is just based on the opinion of one single solitary individual? What if that person is affected by their mood, distracted by their job, taste deficient by an illness, or nervous about the neighborhood? Well this is simply solved by gathering multiple rankings from trusted and experienced burrito eaters who qualify and maintain good standing as members of The Barrio. We unite to provide averaged rankings submitted by each member of the Barrio, so that truly superior Burritos will unanimously stand out above the rest.

Unveiling

The Barrio is going public so we may share our wealth of burrito knowledge. We will start publishing our findings over the next couple of weeks. The reviews will consist of both general Barrio meetings as well as individual member reviews. We have yet to decide on the format of the posts, but they may include such topics as overall ratings, individual rating sheets, general consensus, blurbs, recommendations and/or other criteria.

Let the unveiling begin.
